
(UNICEF organizes the J8 summit)
The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund was created in 1946 by the UNO, to provide food, security and healthcare to children touched by the WWII. UNICEF is actually acting through 198 countries, and focuses on five primary priorities: Child Survival and Development, Basic Education and Gender Equality (including girls' education), Child protection from violence, exploitation, and abuse, HIV/AIDS and children, and Policy advocacy and partnerships for children’s rights.
It also permits, by severals means, the spreading of youth thougths. Its campaigns both sensitize and collect, generating a benefic result for all.
UNICEF received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965, and took part in the elaboration of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted in 1989 by 191 countries.
